Founded in 1983 in Bursa, Turkey, MOBI is a manufacturer of high quality contemporary design furniture. The company’s founder, A.Rasit Karaaslan, is an award-winning designer and also the creator of its entire collection. MOBI’s headquarters and production facilities are still based in Bursa, where it has a total of 6000 m2 of production space and over 100 devoted employees. MOBI manufactures its furniture in a system that combines traditonal craftsmanship and advanced technology. This system of production allows for customization while guaranteeing perfection in quality. Each piece of furniture is individually crafted by artisans who have devoted themselves to a tradition of excellence.
 
Besides manufacturing contemporary design furniture for residential use, MOBI offers its high-quality services also in the contract industry. From the initial design conceptualization to the final installation, MOBI is able to deliver its contract clients a fully integrated experience, anywhere in the world. A highly skilled and flexible team of architects and engineers work in the design department where the best solutions for client’s needs are found and implemented. Completed projects include several 5-star hotels, luxury residences, corporate and government offices.

Rasit Karaaslan’s mission to create furniture that is up to world’s highest standards both in design and quality, and to make this in Turkey. Starting from the late 1980s, MOBI has been participating in international furniture shows world wide to display its unique designs and thereby attracting the most prestigious clientele from all over the globe. In accordance with its mission, MOBI has successfully become the one of the first exporters of contemporary design furniture in Turkey almost three decades ago and continues to bring home the most celebrated international design awards today.

A. Rasit Karaaslan was born in the central Anatolian city of Kayseri, Turkey. In 1975 he graduated with a degree of Interior Design and Industrial Design from the Fine Arts Academy of Istanbul, today’s Mimar Sinan University. Upon his graduation, he completed numerous interior design projects until 1983 when he founded his own company, MOBI, for furniture production and interior design. From the late 1980’s onwards, he started taking his company to many international furniture shows abroad whereby introducing his unique designs and Turkish craftsmanship to the world. Today, his designs are displayed and sold in the most prestigious locations in more than 15 countries around the globe.. 
 
A. Rasit Karaaslan has been invited to lecture and mentor young industrial designers by major universities in Turkey and regularly serves as a jury member for design competitions organized by universities and industrial associations. As a designer, A. Rasit Karaaslan favors the use of natural materials and organic forms within a contemporary aesthetic. With the help of the latest technology, he likes experimenting with and pushing the boundaries of woodworking, creating textures and patterns that are unique to his designs. His Sini coffee table has won the iF Product Design Award in 2009. Brooklyn Sideboard, Coco Lamp and Rosa Dining Room are among his other award-winning designs. The prolific designer showcases his new collection every year in MOBI’s stand in Salone del Mobile International Furniture Fair in Milan.
